gadgeteerdevil: ((fc) I got my devil machine)

"I'm following, babe," Eddie says quietly so that hopefully only Jason will hear the words.

He makes sure that the free-standing receiver is no longer putting out sound, then pulls on his latest iteration of his own helmet. There's a soft beep near his ear when it secures into place, and he taps at a few hidden buttons on the inner edge of the helmet's base -- muting his own communicator from sending sound, but making sure that it receives any sounds from Nightwing's mask.

He tugs at one gauntlet, then the other... takes a deep breath and clenches his left fist to activate the recall for the rocket trident. He catches the trident out of the air with his right hand and walks over to the old "receiving door" where shipments would arrive.

Eddie taps the big green button to make the door slide open, then turns to the numerical keypad that he and Jason added nearby. He types in a series of codes that will end up locking down their warehouse base once Eddie's own tracker leaves the vicinity of the security sensors. Then he takes a running leap out of the receiving door and fires the rocket boosters, soaring up into the sky moments later.

Another touch to the helmet, a flip of a switch, and a visor falls over his eyes. A few taps on the right gauntlet bring up a HUD with a map showing Eddie's location and the dot of Nightwing's motorcycle, as well as the moving cluster of dots that is Jason's location.

(You know it's serious when he didn't say "I'm coming to get you, Jason" in the style of The Night of the Living Dead. Eddie Bloomberg, passing up a movie reference? Whoever kidnapped Jason is going to regret it.)
